DIRECT SPEECH AND INDIRECT SPEECH
Direct speech (kalimat langsung) adalah kalimat yang diucapkan langsung oleh pihak pertama (yang berbicara) kepada pihak kedua (lawan bicara). Bila ditulis didalam suatu naskah tulisan, maka harus diberikan tanda kutip “…..”
Indirect speech (kalimat tidak langsung) adalah ucapan pihak pertama dan pihak kedua yang disampaikan kembali oleh pihak ketiga kepada lawan bicaranya, sehingga disebut juga kalimat laporan (reported speech).
